Trainee Tracking

Training program information must be recorded, maintained and updated regularly.  Keeping meticulous records of all training activities is essential.

Four Key areas of trainee tracking:

  1. Applicants (for Data Table 6)
  2. Participating Faculty (Data Table 2)

  4. Program Activities (RPPR's & Renewals)

Examples of Trainee Tracking:

  • Type of Trainee (i.e. Predoc or Postdoc)
  • Start and End Dates in Program
  • URG Status

  • Gender
  • Prior Institutions
  • Mentor
  • Permanent Email Address

Best Practices
  • Template Trainee Tracking Spreadsheet
  • These records are essential for creation of annual progress reports (RPPR's) and renewal applications.
  • Tracking former participants after program completion can be challenging. Use social media, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. to follow their progress.
    • Create a special Linkedin or social media page dedicated to your program.
    • Send out an annual Google survey (Contact Jill Vampola for form access).
  • TG Office Hours 9/28/23  - PPT Presentation
Financial Management Tracking - spreadsheet is currently a WIP
